London Fashion Week SS26: First Impressions

15 September 2025

The September edition of London Fashion Week is always forward-looking — showing spring/summer collections while the city is still clinging to its last warm days. There\'s an optimism in the schedule that doesn\'t always match the weather.

This season, the standout British designers leaned into texture and transparency. Lightweight tailoring with visible construction. Fabrics that moved. A palette that went beyond the expected neutrals into washed pastels and chalky whites.

Burberry\'s show was the headline, as it tends to be. But the more interesting work happened in the smaller presentations — young designers working with limited resources but unlimited conviction. That\'s always been London\'s strength: rawness alongside establishment.

For clients, the practical takeaways are subtle. Next summer\'s wardrobe should feel lighter in every sense — construction, colour, attitude. Unlined blazers, relaxed shirting, trousers that don\'t need a belt to sit right.

The strongest looks were the simplest. That\'s not a coincidence.
